Recommendations to the Japanese government Concerning Wide Area Incineration of the Rubble Affected by the Fukushima Daiichi NPP Accident

The Japanese government changed the limit for nuclear materials to be monitored and disposed of in specialized containers from 100 or more bq/kg of Cesium to 8000 bq/kg, 80 times higher than the pre-3.11 limit, and worse is that the government decided to disperse the radiation contaminated debris all over Japan to non-contaminated areas.

We urge and recommend the government to keep the principles for the treatment of polluted materials.

  1. Radiation Contaminated Materials must not be dispersed and must not be incinerated.
  2. They must not be incinerated with asbestos.
  3. Non-contaminated areas must be kept clean.

“Seven Recommendations to the Japanese Government: to Avoid Internal Exposure to Radiation by the Intake of Contaminated Food”

  1. To Aim for Almost Zero Becquerel
  2. Compensation to Primary Industry Workers and Consumers
  3. Guarantee the Rights of Primary Industry Workers, and Mass-Production of Non-contaminated Food
  4. Thorough Surveys of Oceans for Radioactive Contamination, and Secure Stable Supply of Safe Seafood
  5. Thorough Surveys of Sediments in Rivers and Lakes for Radioactive Contamination, and Secure Stable Supply of Safe Water
  6. Development and Implementation of Highly Efficient and Speedy Survey System for Radioactive Contamination
  7. Ensure Safety of School Lunch Ingredients, Radioactive Contamination Survey of all Food for Shipping, and Display of Their Becquerels
